El Rincon Del Sabor is a very special coffee from Santa Barbara, Honduras put together by exporter San Vicente and importer Collaborative Coffee Source. It is a regional blend, comprised of high scoring but not quite micro-lot level coffees. From CCS, "The idea behind the blend was born from the fact that there was an abundance of coffees cupping really well from this past harvest, from well-known and excellent producers we either have worked with extensively or have an interest in working with, but were not cupping quite at the microlot level. Constructing this blend allows CCS to purchase more coffee from these farmers at a better price than they would get otherwise for this quality. We believe that this coffee is greater than the sum of it’s parts."
This year's blend contributors are producers Geovany Rivera, Pedro Sagastume, Isaias Fernandez, Luis Delcid, Jose Maria, David Muños and Manuel Vallecillo. The coffee is grown between 1500-1860 meters above sea level and is comprised of Pacas, Catuai and Parainema varieties. Like all the coffees we've tried from Santa Barbara, the cup profile on this coffee is super clean and sweet with lots of berry and stone fruit notes.
