We are incredibly excited to highlight a producer we have never sourced from before - Jorge Elías Rojas of Finca el Jardín in Tolima, Colombia. We received samples of this coffee from our importer Coffee Quest in Q4 of last year. Immediately we loved what we tasted in the cup: juicy, bright, and well balanced. 

Jorge is a fourth generation coffee farmer. He admired the work that was put into the farm, and at just 13 years old his mother gave him the opportunity to work on the farm, and later took on another opportunity to work at a local business.

 From a young age he worked diligently to learn everything he needed to know to operate a coffee farm. He was successful and eventually inherited a portion of his father’s coffee farm, but he did not stop there; he also purchased a portion of his neighbors land, creating what is now Finca el Jardín. 

Jorge was introduced to specialty coffee in 2016 and since then has been dedicated to experimenting to improve the quality of the cup. His hard work has not gone unnoticed as he works with the community to build a wet mill to be able to wash and process his neighbors cherries. 

His dream is to become a renowned producer in his region, and hopes his 10 year old son will carry the ancestral legacy and become the next generation of coffee farmers. We are pleased to support Jorge and his mission.
